linux怎么找不到我硬盘的自由分区

作双系统时先作xp然后作linux

但是linux怎么找不到我硬盘的自由分区啊

显示信息是这样的：

　　an error has occurred --no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems,please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.

你的是不是串口硬盘?2.4内核的linux光盘安装时找不到串口硬盘的~
