I use ubuntu 6.10,but its gcc cannot work ,how to install soft.I want to install chinese scim to type chinese.　　　　　　

you can  use apt unistall gcc then use apt-get install gcc, install scim to type chinese,you  can use cdrom disk update packages,beause compile source software use gcc glibc and binutils ,you  can  read readme or install text help you install scim.
