who can help me i have no chinese input

when i apt-get install chinput,and then i input "chinput" in the terminal but it said "can't open .~/ypxxx/sysfrence.tab.why?I then change another input-xsim .but it still can't work ,it can't come up when i run it in terminal.there is only a white block in the screen's right down corner.couldn't  work.i replace the "auto"with "zh_CN"in the /etc/xsim/xxx(sorry,i forgot ;-)
next ,i also know that theret's another place must change ----.~xrcini?(maybe it is,i also forget)but there is no file nameed the .xrcinit,i can't find it ,so i haven't replace.is it wrong?later i think i must change the third input "znabc"but when i install it .the same as the two like before.I have stalled in the input problem.I still cann't make any one work.
